Post: Supported Accommodation Cleaner

Location: Falcon Centre, Loughborough

Hours: 35 hours per week

Days / Times: Monday – Friday 07:30 - 15:00

Rate of Pay: £9.07 per hour

OBJECTIVES OF THE POST:

  • To maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the accommodation project
  • To clean empty rooms when required
  • To manage and maintain a stock of required cleaning products

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist with the housing maintenance operations of the accommodation project ensuring cleanliness and hygiene are to a standard allowing service to be delivered efficiently.
  • To maintain and manage the stock of cleaning supplies ensuring that new stock is requested prior to need.
  • To take responsibility for completing all cleaning requirements within a timeframe as directed by the Accommodation Manager

Such tasks may include:

  • General cleaning duties throughout the hostel and the offices
  • Preparing rooms for new residents.
  • Deep cleaning empty rooms.
  • Ensuring that clean bedding and kitchen linen are available when needed.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene to an exceptional level in the kitchen area.

Bathrooms

Communal toilets and washroom areas

  • Clean lavatory basins
  • Clean inside and outside surrounds of sinks
  • Clean and descale shower units and heads
  • Clean and sanitize taps
  • Refill soap, toilet roll and paper towel dispensers in all areas
  • Wipe tiles
  • Polish mirrors
  • Wipe paintwork and doors
  • Wipe and sanitize light switches and door handles
  • Empty rubbish bins
  • Clean and mop floor

Communal Area and Offices

  • Vacuum (spot clean where necessary)
  • Hard flooring-dust control clean and mop
  • Furniture/Desks- damp dust (all removable furniture must be pulled out and cleaned under and wiped down)
  • Fixtures and fittings-dust and damp-wipe (inc. skirting, pipes, window ledges, internal windows)
  • Bins-empty and damp-wipe monthly
  • Doors and walls-remove marks from glass, doors and walls
  • Sanitize door handles, light switches, keyboards and telephones

Corridors

  • Flooring-dust control vacuum, mop hard flooring (spot clean where necessary)
  • Furniture - damp dust (all removable furniture must be pulled out and cleaned under and wiped down)
  • Fixtures and fittings-dust and damp-wipe (inc. skirting, pipes, window ledges, internal windows)
  • Doors and walls-remove marks from glass, external hostel room doors and walls
  • Sanitize door handles, light switches and external bedroom door handles

Stairs

  • Flooring-dust control vacuum, mop hard flooring (spot clean where necessary)
  • Fixtures and fittings-dust and damp-wipe (inc. rails, skirting, pipes, window ledges, internal windows)
  • Doors and walls-remove marks from glass, doors and walls
  • Sanitize door handles, light switches and rails.

Bedrooms (specialist cleaning)

  • To carry out specialist cleaning as requested by the Accommodation Manager. At times, this may include bodily secretions and other unpleasant duties:
  • Wipe and disinfect all hard surfaces.
  • Flooring-dust control vacuum, disinfect/mop hard flooring (spot clean where necessary)
  • Furniture - damp dust (all removable furniture must be pulled out and cleaned under and wiped down)
  • Report all damages to furniture, fixtures and/or fittings.
  • Fixtures and fittings-dust and disinfect (Inc. skirting, pipes, window ledges, internal windows)
  • Sanitize door handles and light switches
  • Doors and walls-remove marks from glass, doors and walls
  • Strip or replace bed linen/ curtains depending on management request.
  • Remove all rubbish and empty bins.
  • Collect and hand in all abandoned personal belongings to staff member.
  • Polish mirrors
  • Wipe paintwork and doors
  • Wipe and sanitize light switches and door handles
  • De-odourise room
  • To ensure that all required checklists are completed for all duties.
  • To ensure all damages and/or issues with service are reported to management.
  • To be alert to the health and wellbeing of all clients, reporting any concerns to staff.
  • To take responsibility for continuous improvement in service delivery and working practices.
  • To implement and adhere to Falcon Support Services policies and procedures as well as any specific local procedures.
  • To develop team spirit and co-operative working across staff team.
  • To undertake any additional tasks and/or duties as deemed necessary in order to meet the requirements of funders, partner agencies or any other such organisations

GENERAL

To undertake any such additional duties that are reasonably commensurate with the level of this post.

To undertake/attend any training and/or meetings as required by the job role.

To promote a positive image of Falcon Support Services, working as part of an integrated team.
